At minus 27 degrees outside, I know it’s hard to believe that Spring is around the corner but before you know it, we’ll be seeing the crocuses and the tulips peak their way through the snow.
When I was a kid, my dad, who was extremely adept in the garden, used to grow a fabulous array of veggies year after year. I remember one year we even had corn in the garden. We also used to live right next to the golf course and my dad would go and pick wild raspberries that would grow in the perimeter between the golf course and the backyard.
So, it’s time to start planning what you’ll be planting in your garden! I was at the local nursery this weekend and I already put in my order for rhubarb, groseille (gooseberry) and gadelle (red currant). Now looking for ail des bois (wild garlic) to plant at the cottage.
I will also be growing cucumbers, tomatoes and hot peppers from seed in a few weeks. Veggies always taste better when they come from your own garden!
